Visiting the Old Windmill Dairy

Safety Tips – Read before your visit

Please read these tips before you come to the farm so you can have a safe and fun visit.

  • Arrival: Please do not arrive more than 30 minutes before your scheduled event.
  • No pets: Please do not bring pets as our herd and herd dogs are wary of strange animals. And you cannot leave your pets in your vehicle.
  • Weather: If we have inclement weather we will send out an email to ticket buyer and post conditions and updates/cancellations/rescheduling on Facebook regarding our event. We ask that you check your email. If mother nature forces us to cancel the tour (which is very rare) we will schedule more dates and will accommodate you to reschedule. However, we do not offer refunds.
  • Road conditions: Be aware roads are sometimes bumpy, or muddy or snow packed.
  • Clothing and Shoes: Please wear enclosed shoes. Dress in layers so that you can keep warm. The temperature and weather changes with little notice.
  • Prepare for the sun: You may want to bring sunscreen and a hat and water as the farm is on the prairie with minimal shade trees.
  • Be careful: Once you are on the farm the ground is uneven and there are barb wired fences. Please be careful as you walk around the farm. This is a working farm and there are some hazards. Please be mindful.
  • Feeding animals: Please do not feed the animals your fingers. Please do not feed our animals people food. They have a strict balanced diet.
  • Lagoon: Please stay away from the water lagoon.
  • Bring an ice chest: You may be interested in product so we encourage you to bring an ice chest.
  • Movie nights: If you are coming to movie night bring a chair, blankets that you do not mind being soiled and a flash light.
